Matt Schaad isn’t certain if he’ll be in Oakland this season, but he does feel the Raiders have the opportunity to be a better team.
He spoke with the media on Thursday and answered questions about his future with the Raiders and his time in Oakland, including his thoughts on his contract situation.
Here are a few of the highlights from the session:On his current situation: Schaad: “I’m not sure if I’m even in the conversation anymore.”
I just know that I’m going to be here for a long time, and I’m still very confident that I can continue to play.
I think that Oakland has been very successful, and there’s a lot of things that they’ve done with me, so I think that I have a good chance to be successful here.
I’m not going to answer any questions about my future plans.
On his future in Oakland: Schaads: “That’s up to the organization, but I’m looking forward to playing in Oakland.”
I think I’ll have an opportunity to play somewhere that I know, that I like, and that’s a good fit for me.
I feel like I have an awesome relationship with the organization.
I’m very excited to play in Oakland.
I feel like the coaches have been really good with me this year, and the organization has been great as well.
I have no doubt in my mind that I’ll be here long term.
On if he’d like to stay in Oakland longer than the four years he’s been there: “Yes, I definitely would like to.
But you never know what’s going to happen.
I think it’s very possible.
You never know.
But I feel that there are a lot more opportunities, and they have a lot to offer for a lot different types of players.
But at the end of the day, it’s always the team that wins.”
I definitely would love to play there longer.
I would love for my family and my friends to come back and watch me play.
I wouldn’t want to see myself go anywhere else.
I would love this opportunity to continue to grow as a player and to play on an NFL team.
