CNET reports that Microsoft is preparing a new update to Windows 10 for developers, and that the new release will include support for the latest Microsoft operating system features and applications.
The new update, codenamed “RUN” will include improvements for developers that should improve the speed of the update and improve reliability.
In addition to improvements to the Windows 10 app experience, Microsoft is also planning to include the ability to share files between a developer’s desktop and Windows 10 devices, Microsoft said in a blog post.
Microsoft has been rolling out new versions of Windows for more than a year now, and today’s new update will be the first major update to come with the new Windows 10 “RANDOM” operating system.
The Windows 10 Random update includes a variety of enhancements, including support for Microsoft’s new universal Windows app, improved keyboard support, a new tile-based design for Windows 10 desktop apps, and a number of other changes.
While Microsoft hasn’t specified which applications will receive the update, the company said it is also preparing support for “a wide range of other popular Windows apps.”
The company said that “all apps are expected to be updated with the latest version of the Windows app,” so developers can continue to offer Windows 10 as their primary operating system for all devices.
