I guess I’ve had my fill of cable television for a while now, and the one constant that has always stuck with me is the constant “Cable TV is dead” bullshit.
The idea that cable television is somehow obsolete is so common that even the cable industry itself seems to have lost its mind with it.
What about the networks that are supposed to make up the backbone of our modern digital lives?
Networks like HBO and Showtime?
I guess you could say they are dead, and not just because they are no longer the sole source of our entertainment, but also because they’ve lost their way.
In the past few years, HBO has been making big waves as the best premium network, and it seems like they will be getting even bigger and better in the future.
So what happens when we finally get cable?
Well, for the most part, we’ll have to wait until 2018 to find out.
The HBO website says they will begin rolling out the HBO GO app in October, and in the meantime you can enjoy a whole new slate of programming every night of the week.
You can watch HBO programming, including Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Game of Pawns, Silicon Valley, and more.
The apps will be available to both Android and iOS devices.
And with that, you will be able to enjoy all of HBO’s programming on your TV, on the couch, in the car, at your office, or even in your home.
But for now, we’re stuck with a lot of what we’ve come to know and love from cable TV, and if we’re being honest, I’m just glad it’s finally getting better and better.
