How do you stop someone from using your name online?
The first step is to block the account, according to a new report from The American Conservatives.
The report argues that using the wrong account can lead to an attack and even physical harm.
According to the report, a user can block an account for a number of reasons, including violating a user’s terms of service, harassing or stalking a user, posting hateful content, or being a spammer.
In some cases, blocking an account will not stop the person from using it, as they can still send out hate speech and spam.
In other cases, it can even lead to the person posting more content, the report found.
“While blocking accounts is a good way to ensure your online safety, we recommend that you first block the person who uses your name,” the report’s author, Matthew Heimbach, wrote.
“It’s important to note that blocking someone does not stop their actions, and blocking people does not necessarily prevent someone from harassing or threatening you online.”
Heimbamp wrote that blocking an online account is not a solution to online racism, but rather an effort to combat it.
The American conservatives also called out Twitter for not providing a way for users to block an abusive account.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
